Updates

I know it's been a while since the last post. We've had a few fun things happen since then. First off, one of the boys pooped on the potty. Of course it was Blake, not Aidan as you would expect. He's only done it a few times and not consistently. Aidan has yet to do so--I think it scares the crap out of him. Not literally though, because we wouldn't be having this conversation if it did. Anywho, if you really want to see what Blake's first poop looked like in a potty, Steph did take a picture and I can send it your way if you're really interested.

Steph has started taking care of a little girl part time in addition to the boy she has. The boy isn't coming back in the fall (he's a teacher's child) so now she's set for the fall (the girl--about 5 months old--is another teacher's child).

I had the week off for spring break, though it felt like more work than being at home. The boys always have so much fun at Grandma & Grandpa Krajna's house playing on their swingset and they have outgrown our little metal one, that we decided to upgrade. We would like to thank our families for contributing to the project--money for the swingset for the boys' Christmas present and to Bill for helping me put it together. It went together pretty well--it took about 7 hours for the two of us and aside from one small snafu, it went smoothly. Even Steph likes to play on it!

We also decided to update our landscaping around the house and add concrete edging blocks. I started with only planning to do the front of the house, but before you knew it, the whole house was done. It took 3 days, working while the boys were napping, about 2 hours at a time. (they wouldn't have let us work while they were outside). It looks really nice--it adds a finished look to the house. I don't have any pictures for you though. (I know, I'm slacking).
Finally we took a stroll to Sears this week. Our Sears location is closing, so everything is on clearance. We were able to find what we've been looking at getting for months--a PowerWheels truck. I of course wanted the Hummer, but those aren't being made anymore. Then I was thinking the Cadillac Escalade or the John Deere Gator. Those were pricey, so when we found the Ford F-150 at Sears on clearance, I couldn't resist. I think I secretly wanted one for myself, but those darn weight limits do me in every time.

Blake can't quite reach the pedal yet, but he does like to sit in the driver's seat. Aidan is still getting used to the whole steering thing and watching where he's going. One of us has to walk along side to help steer so he doesn't crash into a tree, go off the curb or hit Maggie.

Finally, we've decided on Saturday, June 6 as the date for Blake's 2nd birthday party. It'll be in the afternoon, probably sometime around 2-3pm at our house. We'll be sending out invitations in the next couple of weeks.
I hope you've enjoyed this lengthy update. Hopefully I'll be more on the ball in the future and provide timely updates. God speed little doodles.
